Foundation’s
main focus is exploring and
conquering end-game content. As such, Foundation expects its members to share
its vision of the future and its thirst for new experiences and content.
Foundation has several basic rules in terms of raiding, raid participation, and
raid preparedness. We work hard for our members, and expect that our members are
inclined to return the time and effort. The basic requirements are simple and
few, but they are requirements that the officers will enforce within their
respective classes.
1. Raid
Participation: Raiding Members are
required to sign-up for a minimum of three (3) runs per week. Failing to meet
the minimum raiding requirement can and will result in your demotion to member
status.
2. Raid
Preparedness: Anyone who chooses to
raid with Foundation is required to show a certain level of raid readiness. Raid
readiness means several things:
that you are
on-time and prepared for any and all runs that you sign-up for;
that you bring
the appropriate reagents, flasks, pots, elixirs, gear, and in-game mods;
that you are
online and not in a group at the designated invite start time;
that you are at
the raid staging area before the scheduled raid start time;
that you have
checked the forums for any strats and/or requirements for the specific encounter
scheduled; and
that you have
made arrangements to make yourself available for the entire duration of the
scheduled raid (generally, three (3) hours).
While Foundation encourages its members to use their own good judgment in
deciding what constitutes preparedness for your specific class and/or spec, the
Class Commanders have adopted general lists of what Foundation deems to be class
specific basic raiding requirements. Those guidelines can be found in your class
specific forums (note that you must be a
member of Foundation to have access to the class forums. If you are not a member
but are interested in knowing what these requirements are, please contact an
officer in-game for additional information).
The Guild Rule
DON'T BE A DICK!
This should not have to be posted, but we expect your behavior to be cordial to guildies and non-guildies alike. If you want to act like an idiot, please do it with a different guild tag over your head. As long as our guild tag is over your head, you represent Foundation to those not in our guild and your behavior effect the recruiting of much needed new members. So please, STOP, when your mouth goes into drive before your brain gets out of park
Racist behavior, inappropriate language, ninja looting, and other such non-sportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated by me, my officers or Foundation. THIS IS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY!
Raiding with Foundation
(Signing-up, Showing-up, and being prepared and what that means for you!)
Our sign-ups and scheduling policy have been designed specifically with our target audience in mind - people who are interested in raiding high-end content, but also enjoy other aspects of the game, whether it be alts, time with guild-mates, role-playing, or whatever.
Our goals in crafting these policies were consistency (so that people generally know what to expect when raiding with us and can plan accordingly), equity (we want to be fair to everyone that raids with us, new members and veterans alike, and we ultimately strive to ensure that we can include as many people as we can), efficacy (while we do our best to give everyone a chance, we also wish to be successful at the highest levels and sometimes need to make decisions accordingly, and fun (ultimately, that's what everyone's in it for. We have fun on our raids and we hope that you will too).
As part of servicing such a diverse group of people with a broad set of goals, we like to take a more aggressive approach to providing multiple raids and varying schedules in order to try and provide opportunities for everybody. Doing so, however, can be a logistical nightmare at times which makes it extremely important for everyone to be aware of our policies and procedures, and to assist us in by doing their part in helping Foundation succeed. We expect a certain level of effort, attentiveness, and dedication from everyone that raids with us.
Vent Etiquette
Vent is a requirement to raid with Foundation, as is having a working microphone to communicate during raids.
In an effort to limit Vent traffic, we have a few simple guidelines that we ask people to bear in mind at all time. If you do not have an "A" next to your name in the Raid window, you should not be talking in Vent during instance runs. You can speak if you are asked a question or the raid leader asks for your input. This specifically relates to anything not related to the run and things that are not critical to the success of the run. Of course, if you have anything pertinent to add to the raid in Vent, please speak up :). The reason for this policy should be obvious, focus on the instance and leave the channel open for important things. It will make the raids quicker and more successful.
If you must speak, say your name before you speak so everyone knows who is speaking. Never say "I" in Vent. If you have something important to say, be specific and clear with regard to location, mob, and/or action.
Examples of things not to say in Vent, especially if you don't have an "A":
"What boss is next?"
"How long is the run?"
"What run is tomorrow?"
"Have you heard the joke about..."
"I think we should change the raid point system."
"I have to go take a shower."
...and at no time should anyone ever play music over Vent.
If you need something or have questions, we recommend that you use raid chat, class chat, party chat or whisper an officer.
Also, remember that the amount of people available to be in Vent is limited. If you are in a Vent channel by yourself during a guild run you should either disconnect or expect to be kicked to make room for the guild members in the raid that need access to Vent!
Raiding with Other Guilds
You are in Foundation and it is expected that you will raid with Foundation. To further clarify, NO you cannot raid with another guild. While we, as a guild, actively run most instances at least once a week, if you are looking to run something that is for some reason not on our current schedule please discuss it with an officer of the guild and perhaps other like-minded folks can assist you in coordinating a run to that instance. Going outside of the guild to make such a run is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. Locking your character into another guild's raid can and will lead to your removal from the guild.
Leaving Foundation
First off, let's state the obvious and remind everyone that you are all free to leave the guild anytime you wish. You did not sign a contract and no one has a gun to your head. If our raid times no longer match your schedule, your real life friends are in another guild or you just decide that you plain ol' don't like us, that's fine. Whatever the reason, we would be happy to wish you well on your travels through Azeroth. All we ask is that you tell an officer of your intent and that you leave immediately once you have made the decision to do so.
If at some point in the future you wish to return to Foundation and have followed extended these courtesy’s to us, your application will be considered. If you were unable to comply with these simple requests, please do not re-apply as your application will not be considered.
We try to run the guild in an open and honest manner. All we ask is the same from you. Staying the guild while waiting to hear back on your application to another guild and continuing to acquire loot, bank items, or assistance from our members is disrespectful and deceitful. If it is brought to our attention that you have applied to another guild while still in our guild, you will be immediately removed from the guild without notice.
Other Useful Policies of Note
Foundation does not condone, approve of, participate in, or otherwise engage in any action that may be considered a violation to the World of Warcraft EULA.
Members are asked not to give their account information out to other individuals either in or out of the guild. It is important from a working together stand point that we can be assured that it is you personally playing your character. If we have reason to believe that you are not personally playing your character, we reserve the right to remove you from a raid that you are participating in or from the guild at the discretion of the officers.
Signing up and not showing up for runs is frowned upon and will not be tolerated. There is a raid point penalty for the “occasional” no show, however, should it become a habit, you should anticipate that you will be removed from the guild.
We require a WORKING microphone for your participation on our raids. It is imperative that all members be able to communicate quickly and efficiently in the face of ever-changing circumstances.
Members will be removed from the guild after 14 days of inactivity without your formal notification of the absence through a post that you put in the “Vacation” section of the forums.
